Specialty Design For a Church

We also provide a personal consultation service for a custom designed mirror if you have something special in mind - a different shape or size or style than what we offer in our stock models. Meeting a challenge and creating new mirror designs are always a highlight for us !

This mirror was a custom project for a local Church which wished for a large mirror for their vestibule entry. We met with the client and discussed their requirements, did a review of the interior design features of the Church and created a suitable proposal which fit their budget and incorporated some of the architectural elements of the Church itself.

The completed mirror is five feet tall and features an arched top panel with a Gothic quatrefoil rosette which matches the Church windows in style. We were also able to duplicate the chair rail moulding in the vestibule and use that profile for the top crown moulding on the frame. The mirror is made from solid birch with a furniture grade stain and a water based environmentally friendly protective varnished finish.

Comments from the congreation and public have been very favourable, some saying the mirror looks as if it has been hanging there for a hundred years already ! There is a signed and dated descriptive label on the back for posterity.

This is what we enjoy making - antiques for the future ! Contact us today for your dream project !

A Model For Every Room

From the compact O'Dell to the statement-making Chatsworth, we offer designs to work with any room or application.

If you wish to add a dash of sparkle to a quiet corner, the O'Dell will fit almost anywhere.

Our Barrymore features Neoclassic grace and charm in a modestly sized and priced model with great versatility. Small enough for a powder room but big enough for a 'last look' before you head out on the town.

One of our new Homestead series, the Van Tassel adds the Country and Primitive look to your home with it's warm colors and distressed finish. A set of hooks are handy for your house keys or what have you.

Perhaps the Baltimore with it's carved and gilt grape motif would add a classy accent to your kitchen or wine cooler/bar area. At almost 3 feet high it provides a surprising amount of reflective display.

The Monticello is an impressively scaled focus point for a grand entry foyer, dressing mirror or ensuite vanity. It can add depth to a hallway or give extra scale to a modestly sized room.

For a conversation starter in your dining room or as the showpiece over your fireplace mantel, the Chatsworth is a truly magnificent and unique looking glass. If you love classical style this is the one for you.

Whichever model you choose, your mirror will be made with traditional quality materials and workmanship.

About Us

Jeff's Background

Jeff and his wife moved from Vancouver BC to Nova Scotia back in 2008. It was time to step away from the big city and make a fresh start in a small artistic community. Besides his love of history Jeff is also an artist and can be found hanging at Sissiboo Coffee Roaster with his friends when he has the time !

Antique Mirrors

Before the Industrial Revolution the manufacture of mirror glass was a difficult and slow process. The glass was thin and fragile, and polishing it was very labor intensive, making a decorative mirror frequently the most costly and valuable piece of furnishing in a well to do household. We use modern glass with authentic solid wood construction to make heirloom decorative mirrors just for you!
